Tinago Falls

for the Best Water Forms category

History & Location

Deeply hidden in the ravines of the province of Lanao del Norte is a waterfall 240 feet high. Its name, Tinago Falls, is derived from the tagalog word meaning ‘hidden.’ One has to go through its winding stairs of estimated 500 descending steps to the area. The blue-hued lagoon paired with its ice cold waters entice visitors to soak into its calming waters.

Visitors are encouraged to ride the rafts to simply enjoy the diverse flora and fauna surrounding the place.

Being in the ‘City of Majestic Waterfalls’, Iligan City, one could expect much more waterfalls surrounding the area. These collection of waterfalls include the Maria Cristina Falls, Dodiongan Falls, Pampam Falls, Dalipuga Falls, and many more.

User comment:

Visiting Tinago Falls is one of the best adventure of my life. I've experience the long walks and the 200 steps just to see Tinago Falls and swim to its clear deep water. Even if its exhausting but when you reach the destination, you can definitely say that it is worth the walk. – Shaina Cabug
